Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park commonly known as Chhatbir Zoo is located a few kilometers away from Chandigarh in village Bir near Zirakpur-Chandigarh highway. It is an ideal picnic spot for kids and tourists.
The zoo was constructed in the 1970s has 300m long walk and is home to a large variety of animals like birds, mammals and reptiles.

You can reach here by taking CTU bus from Chandigarh, or if you are travelling by your own vehicle then there are 3 parking grounds available.

The Zoo is open to visitors Tuesday to Sunday (Closed on Monday) and to maintain the covid regulations three timing slots are:

Chhatbir Zoo is located on Zirakpur-Chandigarh Highway. You can travel by your own vehicle or can take bus also or if you are living near Chandigarh, Zirakpur or Mohali then you can even take an Ola or Uber. Zoo is open from Tuesday to Sunday except Monday and the timing is 09:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. Plenty of parking is available in zoo and the parking fee is Rs.10/- for 2 wheeler and Rs.20/-for 4 wheelers. Entry Ticket price range from rs. 50/- to rs.100/- depending on your age.
If you are travelling with your family and not able to walk whole zoo then you can take battery operated cart the cost of cart is rs. 500 for 6 seater and rs. 1000 for 12 seater.
